Bringing humanity to a refugee camp.

Corinth

The project:

A community center for migrants. People on the move need some way to meet their needs, and forge new links with their local community.

The situation:

Services in a government-run refugee camp deteriorate every year. Food is poor, and there is nowhere to escape the heat. It is an inhumane place.

The team:

About 15 volunteers offer a range of services, from providing food to legal advice.

The intervention:

We made the start of this project possible. The project is now self-financed and sustainable.

A place was created only a few minutes’ walk away from the camp that provided for basic needs: food, medical visits. They also offer language classes, cooking classes, provide baby supplies, and clothes. We also offer legal help, job guidance, and all the psychological support that people need, when they wait for two or more years for any kind response from the government.
